Featured Project of the Month
Submitted by Concrete Evidence in Kemah, Texas
This custom concrete countertop integrates many of the benefits of concrete for a countertop surface. In this creation, Concrete Evidence blended a standard gray concrete with a custom rust color created specifically for the customer into a flowing pattern that cuts across the kitchen. The casting technique used was Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete or GFRC filled with foam which reduced the weight to around 11 lbs a square foot and also increased the flexural strength enough to allow for the 14" unsupported cantilever at the bar top.
This custom concrete countertop also has a recessed cutting board that wraps the sink and is removable for easy clean up.
